Anti-Spam Policy

Dot Media Digital Communication S.L. (hereinafter Dot Media DGTL) is absolutely against unsolicited bulk mailings.

Dot Media DGTL has a strict anti-spam policy. We actively monitor the uploading or importing of e-mail addresses and all e-mail messages sent from your systems and on your behalf.

1. WHAT IS SPAM?
According to the spamhaus.org definition, spam is any e-mail that is both “bulk” and “unsolicited”.
“Unsolicited” means that the recipient has not given verifiable permission for the message to be sent. “Bulk” means that the message is sent as part of a large number of messages with virtually identical content.
A message is considered spam only if it meets both conditions at the same time.

2. PERMISSION FOR A SOLICITED MAILING
For a bulk mailing to be considered “solicited”, explicit permission from the subscribers is necessary.
Permission is obtained by filling out and submitting a web form in which each person agrees to have their e-mail address included in your mailing database. Dot Media DGTL collects this explicit acceptance on all forms under the name of its mailing base contact providers.
Such permission can also be obtained by collecting addresses digitally or on paper, in your customer service areas or at various types of events (using a coupon or requesting the e-mail at the time of registration at the event).

The condition for the permission to be valid is that the option to accept or not to accept the subscription is given at the time of requesting the e-mail address.

In cases of persons linked in a stable way to a company or institution (e.g. employees, affiliates, registered customers of online services, registered suppliers) this relationship may, under certain conditions, grant their company or institution tacit permission to send e-mail communications. For example: a professional association may use mass e-mailing to communicate to its professional members about activities or changes in regulations, etc. In these cases, tacit permission to use e-mail as a means of institutional contact is considered to exist from the moment the member provides the institution with this information. The same applies to a newsletter or bulletin for internal circulation only within a company or organisation. This type of permission can only be used for relevant communications generated by the institution itself. Under no circumstances may the permission be used for mailings by third parties.

3. THE PERMISSION IS NON-TRANSFERABLE
Dot Media DGTL upholds an elementary principle applicable to all email address lists: email addresses belong to the subscribers (natural or legal persons) and not to those who may have obtained them by any method of data collection.
The lists of email addresses hosted by Dot Media DGTL are non-transferable and may not be sold to third parties.

4. WHY NOT TO SPAM?
Spamming is not only illegal in many countries, it is also very counterproductive for the spammer. If a company spams, its image will deteriorate, it will generate distrust and nobody will want to leave their details to receive personalised and relevant information. In addition, this practice generally has technical penalties from email services, such as being added to blacklists, being blocked or being sent to the spam folder by email services.
These penalties are very difficult to resolve if the behaviour is not changed and can be detrimental to legitimate mailings in the future or even to the company’s communications with customers and suppliers via email.
Dot Media DGTL practices permission-based e-mail marketing as it is the only way to sustain fruitful and long-lasting relationships with your customers.

5. HOW DOES Dot Media DGTL PREVENT SPAM?
Dot Media DGTL uses several mechanisms to prevent the sending of SPAM:
An unsubscribe link is included in the footer of each message sent through Dot Media DGTL to allow automatic unsubscribing of subscribers who no longer wish to receive email from a certain list. If a subscriber unsubscribes in this way, they will not be uploaded back into the system.
Real contact information: The contact information on all Dot Media DGTL owned pages and communications is real and verifiable information.
Complaint Feedback Loops” adherence: Complaints out of the total number of recipients who receive an e-newsletter.
